The Road to Junction City, Oregon

Bend was a little cooler when we woke up this morning. The skies were clear and the day bright. We traveled through Sisters along Route 20, then along scenic Route 126 (the dotted route on the map) across Santiam Pass, and all the way to Junction City just north of Eugene.
This is the scenery we saw today -
Mt Jefferson
beginning of the scenic loop
love these trees with their red bark
the Deschutes National Forest
signs of fall in the air
Mt Washington
Santiam Pass was engulfed in a serious fire two years ago
evidence of fire damage still lingers in spots
on our way down the other side
Three Fingered Jack
skeletal tree remains
traveling south after Santiam Pass, there were several spots of lava flows, evidence
of original explosive volcanic activity
this side of the pass was thick with forest, and it felt like we were driving
through a tunnel of trees
surrounded by lush greenery
We pulled in to the Amazing Creations lot after 2 PM. Within a few minutes of us settling in, Bobby was inside tearing out the carpet. The renovations have begun. There is a lengthy list, starting with replacing the carpeted area with wood vinyl flooring, replacing the oven with a new gas cooktop and building drawers beneath, extending the kitchen drawers, reinforcing the bedroom drawers, adding two shelves in the bathroom area, adding doors to the TV cabinet in the front, and the most important item - the installation of the new desk!

there goes the carpet....
what a mess!
The desk was already built and in the workshop -

Wow! It looks amazing... no wonder these guys call their business Amazing Creations.
There is a His and Hers section with pull out laptop/keyboard trays each, a bank of drawers in the center, a fold up extension on the right for extra work surface, and the cherry on top is the "box" on casters that is the storage for two sewing machines, which will also double as a coffee table in front of the couch. I cannot wait to have it installed and start sewing!

this will be home for a few days...not the prettiest scenery, but we have electrical power
and WiFi, and the promise of a rejuvenated Alpine by week's end
