Pismo Album

Here are a few more Pismo pics...

As you approach Pismo Coastal Village RV Park, there is a seasonal clam at the entrance.  In the spring it becomes a Monarch Butterfly.  At this time of year, a Turkey Clam greeted us -

The RV Park is in a great spot, right on the inlet, across the dunes from the beach, and a few blocks from the quaint beach town with its pier.  The RV Park has a swimming pool, banquet room, small restaurant, a store, and a laundry.

Here are pics of the town, boardwalk, and pier -

a real surf woodie, just like on the town banner

sunsets on the pier are magical
The pier attracts all sorts:

The views from the pier are spectacular -
view north to Avila
view south towards Oceano Dunes (our RV Park is behind the trees)
same view south along the 7-mile stretch beach
Next door to the RV Park is the Pismo State RV Park, which we often walk through to get to the Monarch Grove.

there are a lot of tenters in the State Park, and we had a good
chuckle at this novel tent
Just south of us is Grover Beach, which is accessible either by walking along the beach, or through the State Park which leads to another boardwalk across the dunes -

Oceano Dunes ahead to the south
dunes are covered with flowering Sour Figs  - in November!!
If you walk on the beach south of the State Park, you will run into traffic.  That area is considered a roadway.  We see many fifth wheels accessing this area, transporting their ATV's and wave runners.  Over the weekends and holidays, this area tends to become rather active and noisy.

the end of the "road" from this point on  -
our RV Park is just north of the trees
Besides vehicles along this stretch of beach, there is other "traffic" here too -
