Beach Bums

Ever since the Alpine Rally ended, we have stayed on in Pismo Beach.  It's been a wonderful reprieve to stay in one place and just enjoy our surroundings.
For 27 days, we have been either on the move every day, touring or "rallying", so this has been our first spell of some down time and R&R since leaving Maryland.

Typically when we are in Pismo, we begin the day by going straight to the beach.  Michael runs and I, with camera in hand, walk.  It's always surprising how many folks are already out on their walks and runs when we arrive.  The surfers are out there too of course, catching the waves.

This is the first time we have been here in the fall/winter months.  To us, who are used to cooler temps generally, the weather has been wonderful.  The sun has greeted us all but one day so far.  And even under gray overcast skies, the beach was still pleasant.  If this is winter in California, it's very pleasant indeed.

We were fortunate to extend our stay longer, through Wednesday next week.

Michael has however not been idle all this time.  Just like maintaining any home, he has been picking away at his To-do list of things, which are mostly small things, like figuring out how the previous owner wired the TV's, or figuring out why there is a "whine" when we use the hot water taps, or adjusting our seats so they are able to turn around, etc. Just like with any older home, it takes time to learn how everything functions and figure out the little eccentricities.
We have visited both RV stores and the hardware store for parts several times now. Luckily they are conveniently within walking distance so we also get our exercise in.

Typically we also try to catch the sunset and walk along the beach then too.

Being Pismo "beach bums" isn't at all bad.  Particularly in our spacious and rather luxurious Alpine.
